Data loss can be depressing to very frustrating, alot of people everyday lose all they're work or files because they never backed up they're info. We all think it could never happen to us but it can at any minute. So right know while your reading this, your PC could freeze, shutdown, and never work again (lets hope it does'nt though haha). Everybody gets upset and mad when they find out that they cant recover some file or anything at all. The truth is not all virus infected, or non-working hard drives can have their data recovered. Sometimes its fully out of the question, leaving you with nothing. So hear are some tips on how to prevent this.

1.) BACK UP!!!!! This is the #1 way of preventing data loss. A regular external hard drive will do, even a large volume USB flash drive will work. As long as its external you should be ok, only save important files to it and if your computer ever crashes then you can still access your files from somewhere else. Some external hard drive are about 35 to 50 bucks, these will do just fine.

2.) Take action with your computer, if its running slow or acting up its probly infected. Run scans and keep it clean and well maintained. Slow PC's are at the verge of crashing so be careful.

3.) These are all the tips I have for today, they arent much I know but they are very effective. A 40 dollar external hard drive will save you 500 to a 1,000 at any data recovery business, and remember they cant always retreive the info. So keep it safe.
Thanks for reading and every week I post blogs on computer tips, so stay tuned and if you ever have any questions just send me an e-mail or call me.

Virus Alert. There are several new virus's that are coming out that our fake alerts. So you will get a window showing you that you have a few 50 infections, or alerts. These can be convinsing and almost always ask for some sort of payment to removal the problems. Be cautios of these virus's when opening pic or watching videos on the web. These in particular tend to be trojans and as any technician will tell you are a pain to remove, and sometimes can cost you all you data. Some examples are "Internet Security 2010" or "Antivirus Live". Whatever you do dont pay for anything and dont mess with these viruses unless you know what your doing.
Remember stay safe on the web and be cautios of what you download, one click can cost lots of dollars (not with me though haha)!!  =)

Yesterday I went to a recording studio to see what was wrong with there pc. I thought I was fixing a regular pc that someone there owned, but it turned out to be their main studio's computer. Needless to say the pressure was on. After an hour of trying to figure out what the problem was, I found it. IE-8 was causing they're pro tools software to not load and react very wierd. So I made some changes and now they're recording again. They were so happy that they invited me for lunch and a free song recording (which I was too shy to do). The whole experience was great and I made a great new friend in the music industry.

Today I will tell you some tips on downloading songs, pictures, software, documents, ect.

1.) Toolbars!!!!. Ughh I cant stress enough on those awful things, toolbars actually cause alot of problems on your computer, one example is the my websearch toolbar. Whenever you download a program or software or even an update, be sure to not just hit the next key right away. Take time to look and see that your not getting an optional "free toolbar". Toolbar seem like a good idea but in reality they cause more damage than good, some even contain trojans.

2.) Be cautious of what you download, too many free anti-spyware will actually give viruses and popups. Look around and see what the best programs are and stick that one only. Remember if its too flashy and appeling to the eyes then the chances are that its not doing its job.

3.) When opening a picture/video in any website, make sure it takes you to that domain and not a popup that says open picture or download picture, any web supported pic or video should'nt require a download.

4.) GAMES!!! Some game may be fun but never download them, because then they will want you to buy a package and the game itself will just take up space in your hard-drive. Besides if you can play it on the web there is no point in downloading it.

5.) And finally false advertisements. They are flashy and look real at times but keep in mind that even the most simple thing that should be free always comes with a catch. Dont get some 3-D wallpaper because it looks "cool", you dont need it. Those kind of screen savers and wallpaper sites are loaded with harmful viruses and slow up your processors speed, therefor making your computer slow and useless.

Thanks for reading and if you have any comments just send me a messege.
